SALVAGING PLANT (Resetting Service)
The
economics of diamond drilling is mainly dependent on the diamond bit
cost. The diamond content in a diamond drill bit represents 80% to 85%
of the total cost. It is therefore very essential to use new diamonds to
the maximum extent possible till their effective utility at optimum
penetration rate.
It
is recommended that diamond drill bits should not be used to
exhaustion, but should be withdrawn before the matrix wear has
progressed to a limit when diamonds get exposed by more than one third,
this is considered necessary to avoid any roll out of diamonds due to
reduced grip of the matrix and the possibility of loss. At this stage,
it is advisable to return the diamond drill bit for resetting.
We
maintain excellent resetting service for all users of diamond bits of
any make. The promptness of this service enables drillers to keep their
drills working with as little down time as possible. In the resetting
process when a used bit is received the diamonds are salvaged by a
special electrolytic process without causing any damage to the diamonds.
The recovered diamonds are carefully segregated into usable stones and
scrap. The usable stones are reset adding sufficient new stones to make
up the original carat loading of the bit. The user pays only for new
diamonds added and setting and blank charge. Rebate is given for the
scrap diamonds recovered.
